The NPHC New Member Institute is designed to address issues facing newly initiated members in African American Greek letter organizations on college campuses nation wide. The New Member Institute promises to offer its participants a wealth of knowledge and practical applications on issues that face students in Black Greek Letter organizations. The institute will offer the opportunity for participants to explore ways to develop leadership skills within their organizations through workshops, forums, and the sharing of information.
NPHC New Member Institute Guidelines
The National Pan-Hellenic Council is proud to sponsor the New Member Institute for members that would like to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge on effectively running their organizations.
Criteria for Eligibility:
To attend the institute the participant must:
· Be a member of one of the NPHC affiliate undergraduate organization (applicants must be Fall 2007 or Spring 2008 Initiates).
· Be enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) during the fall and spring semesters of that academic year
· Have a cumulative (overall) GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 scale.
· Show evidence of leadership potential, as well as an interest and involvement in the campus, black Greek letter organizations and their communities
· Submit all registration materials (application and essay questions these forms should preferably be typed)
· Paid Registration
· Graduate members are not eligible.
Selection Process
The institute is designed for only 50 people. The selection process will be based off of complete applications/registration forms, essay questions and paid registrations.
Application Process
To apply submit the registration application form to the address indicated on the registration form. Applications that are not complete will not be considered.
The registration/application packet is complete with the following: applications/registration forms, essay questions and paid registration.
Deadlines: Early Registration must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2008 Late Registration must be postmarked no later than May 31, 2008.
(Registration fee is non-refundable after May 1, 2008).
